Student Counselling

Student Counselling

The Student Advocacy Counselor in each school site promotes student success, provides preventive services and responds to identified student needs by providing individual and group counseling to students, linking students and families with appropriate community agencies and by referring “at risk” students and families to appropriate community agencies.  The Student Advocacy Counselor coordinates, researches and/or develops preventative and intervention programs to enhance and support the school and district’s needs.  The SAC works in partnership with community agencies, school staff, students, and families.

The school counsellor at North Star Elementary School is Mrs. Dusty Fraser. Mrs. Fraser now works full- time, Monday to Friday, at North Star.  Mrs. Fraser welcomes you to drop by and see her or to arrange a scheduled one to one appointment that is convenient for you.  You can also contact her through email at or through North Star Elementary School main phone line, 780-594-3232.
